Self portraits have been a constant feature of my art ever since I was invited to take part in a group exhibition with this theme. Veils, reading, playing an instrument, putting on an earring are themes employed to explore the expressivity of portraits and hands and femininity.

“The style of these portraits draws from Art Nouveau, which defined an era at the beginning of the last century, where figurative elements combined with ornament create a pleasing decorative effect. As has always been the case, styles cyclically return to the attention of artists and the public, and today one can once again appreciate a creation characterized by rich ornamentation and a universal elegance of representation.
Without exception, these figures of young women, framed by ornamental strands or enveloped in delicate lace, are a testament to mastery and craftsmanship, supported by a complete trust in the expressiveness of the human figure. The gentle sensuality of the tones and the energy of the contrasts reveal a painting grounded in traditions thoroughly mastered by a young artist who deserves to bear the mark of an assumed professionalism.”
